I like my face to glow, if I can't be seen from space, I'm not wearing enough highlighter and this powder is simply stunning.
I first saw it when it was released as a limited edition item at Christmas last year but didn't manage to get my hands on it. However, as soon as Bobbi Brown brought this baby back, I nabbed it so bloody fast.
If you follow me on Twitter, (which you should because I'm hilarious) you'll know that I refer to myself as a Spoonie. It's a theory that Christine Miserandino created to describe what it is like to live with disability. Think of spoons as energy, each task, no matter what, takes up a spoon, sometimes we run out of spoons fairly quickly, other times we might be lucky to have a spoon or two left over. Getting up, having a shower, brushing your hair; they all require spoons, the smallest task to a healthy person can be a mountain to a spoonie.
A cult favourite perfume for so many is Viktor & Rolf - Flowerbomb; I've lusted after it for over a year. Every time I'd go into Boots or a department store, I'd have a little spray and my senses would dance happily. I put off purchasing it as I have so many perfumes that sit in my room and I wanted to use some up before getting any more.
For as long as I've been living the Spoonie life (16 years), I've had these weird little bouts of fogginess. The combination of chronic pain, fatigue and lack of sleep take a huge toll on the brain and sometimes it's really difficult to say words, let alone form sentences.
I turned 29 on Tuesday, which means I'm in my final year of my 20s - scary thought. I had a really lovely birthday; Ian and I went out for a meal in the evening and I devoured three courses, it was delicious.
I was lucky enough to win a Kevyn Aucoin competition on Twitter a few weeks ago. I've always lusted after KA products but the price put me off as the brand is very high-end and pretty expensive. However, now I own two of the products that I wanted the most.
I no longer mind that my birthday is in January, I'm quite happy to stay at home and order a takeaway or go for a meal with my boyfriend. I don't do nights out getting hammered, but back in my youth (I'm totally not turning 75, don't worry) there was a lot of things that wound me up about having a birthday in January.
I'm not happy to be writing this. Well, okay, I kind of am, it's a double-edged sword; I'm glad it's almost my birthday but I'm not thrilled by the age. I'm turning 29. Twenty-nine. My last year of my twenties, how depressing! Oh, and not only that, on Sunday, I found a grey hair. As if this week could get any better, hey? I've already booked in an emergency hair-dyeing session with my stylist, I can't have grey hairs sprouting out of my head.
Anyway, my birthday is on Tuesday, January 12th, and I thought I'd share a wish list of things I wouldn't mind receiving as gifts *hint hint*
I've read many a blog post on resolutions and things people want to change/do better since January rolled in, and as positive and/or inspiring they have been, it's made me focus on the one thing that I want but can't have.
