This is a bit of a different post for me, but I thought I'd share it since it's something that fascinates me and I've been obsessed with since I was a kid. I don't believe in the supernatural (and it's totally cool if you do) but I do like reading about it and watching supernatural TV/films. I even took a module during my second year at uni on supernatural literature; I bloody loved it, and it exposed me to lots of novels that I probably wouldn't have known about.
So, let's take this post on a journey and let's enter another universe, a land where powers and magical creatures walk/fly/exist.
What would you be?
Do you walk amongst humans, blending in but needing blood to survive? Are you immortal? Are you controlled by the moon? Do you have powers? Can you cast spells and make potions? Do you control things with your mind? Can you travel through time? Are you a mythical creature? If you could be anything, what would you choose?
My answer is simple as I already share so many similarities - I'd be a vampire. I'm pale af, I stay up all night, I like to bite people - okay, that last one was a lie, but I'm sure I would if I had to. I like garlic but it doesn't like me, so the age old myth of vampire repellent would work on me. My whole wardrobe is practically black, I'm mysterious (I know I'm not, but got with me on this), I could seduce people (probably), and although being immortal isn't the biggest turn-on, I could probably cope with that. I'd just be a loner and go to sleep in a cave for hundreds of years to get away from mankind. I totally wouldn't say no to the speed and the mind compulsion either. Getting somewhere at the speed of light is the polar opposite of hobbling on crutches, so give me that super speed now.
There's plenty of downsides, obviously, blood sucking, killing (although there's a few people I wouldn't mind slicing right now), the lack of heartbeat...but I think I could cope with that; outliving everyone you know. But I think I'd make an awesome vampire. Lurking in the shadows, being a moody cow, reliving my emo phase; yeah, vampirism, come at me.
