Non-Demanding TV Shows

When you're a Spoonie, you spend quite a bit of time in front of the telly, or at least I do. I'm either in pain, highly fatigued or recovering from an injury. I thought I'd put together a list of TV shows that are easy to watch, that require no concentration, focus, demand; TV shows that you can miss five episodes of and it won't matter.

  • Cake Boss - I love cake, like I really love cake. Each episode an extravagant - you guessed it - cake is created and they're always just bloody fantastic. Even though I complain that some of them are made out of rice crispy treats - GIVE ME CAKE.

  • Say Yes to the Dress - There's loads of different versions, the original, Canada, Bridesmaids, I watch them all. Brides come and try dresses on in front of friends and family, sometimes their entourage is pretty brutal but it's a good watch and kills time.

  • Modern Family - It's funny, random, non-demanding; perfect for lounging around watching when there's nothing else to do. I particularly love Cam, he's hilarious.

  • Come Dine With Me - Amusing, bitchy and with a hilarious narrator, CDWM is something you can watch without having to think too much. There's usually back-to-back episodes on too.

  • Extreme Couponing - For some reason I'm highly fascinated by this show, and am always amazed at how much these people save. No thinking necessary.

  • Judge Judy/Judge Rinder - These shows are my guilty pleasure, I'm forever astounded at how people get themselves into situations that require a judge. My favourite episode will always be a woman taking another woman to court over a £5 dress.

  • The Big Bang Theory - I swear I've watched every episode more than twice, if there's nothing on telly, you can guarantee this will be on somewhere. All hail Sheldon.

  • Sex and the City - I will forever love this series, no matter how many times I watch it. The great thing is because I've seen it so many times, it doesn't matter which one is showing, I know what's happened previously.

What are some TV shows that you find easy to watch?

  1. Oh my god I love Say yes to the dress but ollie refuses to watch it with me. I love it when their mums make them try on hideous dresses. Also Cake boss makes me hungry but I cant stop. I feel like I would be a good candidate for CDWM just for my bitchiness. Lets just ignore the fact that I cant cook

  3. Some great shows! I love Say Yes To The Dress & The Big Bang Theory in particular. The Impractical Jokers is also an obsession of mine in the 'easy watching' category & always puts a smile on my face! I'm also a fan of NCIS, though this requires a bit more concentration unless, like me you've seen most episodes at least 3 times! Xx

  5. Love this post! I am always watching 'non demanding' shows & films.
With movies, it definitely helps if you've watched it before. Tv shows, not so much. I hate when I'm home and it's too quiet, I always have the tv on. Come dine with me is such an easy watch, also judge ringer.
I'd like to add Friends, and i'm not ashamed to say..Jeremy Kyle. Haha. It's not that I..like it, or anyone on it. But I do like to watch it now & again. :P

  7. Hello :) you might like the BBC show "Miranda". And I find that Graham Norton is funny, entertaining and easy to watch. Or Doctor Who.

  9. I love watching so many of these shows! Cake Boss is amazing! The cakes they make are so awesome & it makes me dream of having a job as a cake decorator when I watch it! Extreme Couponing is really fascinating, I am always amazed by how much money people on it can save and I love seeing the massive stock piles they have in their homes. It's lovely when they donate so much of it to charity too :)

Some other non-demanding shows I watch are Dinner Date, Four Weddings & Undercover Boss USA :)
