Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting and Celestial Powder Review
I was lucky enough to win a Kevyn Aucoin competition on Twitter a few weeks ago. I've always lusted after KA products but the price put me off as the brand is very high-end and pretty expensive. However, now I own two of the products that I wanted the most.
Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Powder - Candlelight | £35 | Space NK |
I'm a highlighting fiend, I love to glow, I like to be seen from space, but this powder doesn't do that. It's better; it's so subtle, so beautiful, I'm obsessed with it. Candlelight is so finely-milled it creates a natural sheen that isn't glittery in the slightest. It's a soft champagne with a golden undertone that doesn't emphasise pores and looks like you're glowing from within. I'm absolutely in love with it. I use my Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighting brush to apply it to the tops of my cheekbones and my cupids bow. If you're looking for a subtle glow, get this immediately.
Kevyn Aucoin The Sculpting Powder - Medium | £35 | Space NK |
This is the perfect contour shade, a cool-toned grey-brown that creates a gorgeous, natural shadow in the hollows of your cheeks. The powder blends effortlessly, but beware not to use a lot of product or you will cut someone with the sharpness of your cheekbones. I tap my Real Techniques Contour brush in very gently and create a line from the top of my ear, down towards the middle of my cheek and blend. It applies easily to the skin and wears until I take it off that evening. I haven't used any other contour powder since receiving this in the mail. I'm Casper-like pale and this is a great colour for me.
Both powders come in a gold box, wrapped in a drawstring velvet-like bag. The small compact packaging has a mirror and is perfect for travelling or carrying in your make-up bag.
Also, those eyelash curlers are bloody genius. My lashes are unruly little sods, I get LVL every 6-8 weeks because I sleep on my face and my lashes curl downwards. During the third to fourth week, I curl my lashes, but my old curlers did nothing, they'd hold the curl for about an hour and then my lashes would be poking me in the eye, no joke...The Kevyn Aucoin eyelash curlers are a thing of magic, I've never used a lash curler as amazing.
