Send a Personalised Letterbox Cake with Baker Days

Nom, nom, nom, CAKE...And it has my name on it!

Ever miss an occasion? Want to send a friend/family member a cake instead of flowers? How about cake delivered with their mail? Who doesn't want cake? Seriously? Baker Days can happily oblige with their delicious letterbox cakes. Quick, simple and personalised cakes that arrive with the morning (or afternoon depending on whether your post-person is on the ball) post, no signature required, just straight through the letterbox.

My cake dropped through the letterbox, packaged in a sturdy box and a cute Just for You tin. I half expected to open the box and be on the receiving end of a chocolatey mess but it was so well wrapped that there was no way of a cake disaster. Inside the box was the tin with the cake (obviously), candles, balloons, party blower/horn (is that what they're called?) and a cute gingerbread man card. How awesome is that?

Upon opening the tin, the cake is sealed and easy to remove from the tin using the paper pull, which I think is a great idea as the only other way to get it out of the tin would be to tip it upside down. The letterbox cakes are 5" which gives approximately 3-4 portions and come in a variety of different flavours. I opted for chocolate chip sponge cake made with Belgian chocolate. It was absolutely delicious, the sponge was so moist and chocolatey, I almost didn't want to share it with my boyfriend. You can also opt for vanilla sponge, fruit cake, gluten wheat free and dairy free. All the cakes are handmade and use no preservatives and the letterbox cakes cost £14.99.

I went for the Reindeer cake; they're almost the top half of a larger cake consisting of icing, cake and then buttercream underneath, which I found unusual but since they're compact, it made sense. It certainly didn't take away from the taste as it was so yummy and it stays fresh for two weeks, (not that it lasted that long). Baker Days also make larger party cakes.

I absolutely love the whole concept of letterbox cakes, it's a great gift to send for any occasion, so tasty, hassle-free and the keepsake tin is fab.

Would you like to receive a cake in the mail?
