I jumped on these palettes when they were released at Sephora online. If there was a Sephora in the UK I'd definitely set up camp outside. I picked the palettes up months apart as the Eye Contour Palette came out at a later date. Everything about them is perfection; Kat Von D does packaging like no other, it's alternative and cool, just like the lady herself. I've been a huge fan of Kat since Miami Ink and when I heard she was starting a make up line, I'm pretty sure I heard angels (or perhaps devils) sing.

The Eye Contour Palette contains twelve matte eye shadows divided into three quads, Neutral, Cool and Warm. They are extremely buttery, very easy to blend and have good opacity. They can kick up a bit of powder as the shadows are finely milled but if you don't swirl your brush in them with too much excitement you should be fine. Since the palette was released in April, I haven't used much else; I've been obsessed with Lazarus in the crease and Liberatus on the lid, winged liner and mascara, so simple but it looks like I've made an effort. I love a matte eye look and you can't go wrong with neutrals.
Laetus - Cream nude
Lazarus - Cool taupe
Ludwin - Peach bronze
Samael - Medium brown
Solas - Dark reddish brown
Lucius - Light beige
Saleos - Espresso brown
Shax - Black with cool undertones
Liberatus - Pink-toned ivory
Succubus - Brown with red undertones
Sytry - Chocolate brown
Latinus - Cream beige

The contour palette consists of six colours, three highlighting shades and three colours for contouring. The palette is matte and the powders are so easy to work with, they blend like a dream; don't worry if you get heavy handed, just buff that contour in and it'll be a good chiselled-cheek day. I haven't touched my Anastasia Beverly Hills contour palette since I've had this because Sombre is the perfect contour colour, it's got just the right amount of ashy grey tones to create a shadow. I gently tap my brush in Shadowplay to bronze the face and Subconscious is strictly used as an eye shadow because it's way too dark for my Snow White skin. Lucid and Lyric are great for setting concealer under the eyes and I use Levitation as an eye shadow too. Why buy a contour palette to use on your eyes? Well, most contour palettes are universal and what may not work for my skin tone will work for someone else's.
Lucid - Pinkish nude
Lyric - Yellow
Levitation - Peach
Sombre - Brown taupe
Shadowplay - Warm medium brown
Subconscious - Deep brown
I highly recommend both of these palettes, they're not easily attainable as there isn't a Sephora in the UK (sob) but if you can get your hands on them, I suggest you do it.
